Atletico Madrid vs Santandreu

Atletico Madrid vs Santandreu: Time, TV, streaming and how to watch Copa del Rey 2018 Atlético won the first leg 1-0 on Oct. 30 via a Gelson Martins goal in the first half, but Sant Andreu gave a good account of themselves and could have taken a goal of their own back to Madrid.

Unfortunately for them, Antonio Adán stepped up in the second half and kept the clean sheet — and considering Atleti’s strong home form, it is difficult to see the visitors rallying in the second leg and halting the mattress makers’ march to a seventh consecutive round of 16 appearance.

As he does in early-round Copa del Rey matches, Diego Simeone will rotate his side and give his core players a bit of rest. Koke — suspended for this weekend’s important tilt against Deportivo Alavés — is expected to play and captain the side, while Gelson and Nikola Kalinić will get back into the side as well. Vitolo, Ángel Correa and Saúl Ñíguez are favored to start in midfield, while José Giménez might return for his first appearance in a month.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek will make a decision over his short-term future at Chelsea later this month as he waits to discover if the positive impact he has made in recent weeks earns him a first Premier League start of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The England midfielder has scored five goals in his last six club appearances, including the team’s second against Fulham on Sunday to secure a timely derby success, to draw praise from the head coach, Maurizio Sarri. The 22-year-old has been a regular in the Europa League and Carabao Cup selections this season, regaining his place in the national squad for last month’s fixtures as a result, but craves greater involvement in the top flight.

Crystal Palace are keen to take the midfielder back to Selhurst Park, where he enjoyed a productive season-long loan last season, but Chelsea had made clear to prospective suitors that he would not be permitted to leave mid-season. However, it is understood Loftus-Cheek is still prepared to ask for a temporary switch if opportunities remain elusive through a busy month of fixtures up to the opening of the transfer window, not least in Wednesday’s trip to Molineux where his recent form would justify inclusion from the start.

The player, who has spoken regularly one-on-one with Sarri over his development, has been more progressive in his play of late, adding a different dimension to Chelsea’s midfield. “My mind-set is when I get the opportunity to play, whether it is the Europa League or Premier League, I have got to do my best and try and make stuff happen, but also do what the manager asks me to do defensively,” he said. “I want to carry on like that. I’m just trying to improve my all-round game and hopefully I can build on this run.

“I am here right now, I am at Chelsea and I want to focus on helping the team. When I am on the pitch I can’t have any negative thoughts when I am in and around the team because it will affect the team. So my head right now is on playing for Chelsea and learning Sarri’s way. Individually and as a team, that’s all I can do at the moment. I can’t think too far ahead. I can only think about what’s happening right now.

“It is a difficult period coming up where we have to be fully focused. There’s loads of games, so loads of rotation, so we all need to be ready physically and mentally for this. It is all a learning curve, so I am just really focused and aware on what I need to learn.”…

Fulham vs Leicester City

Fulham vs Leicester City : According to a report in The Sun, Fulham have emerged as the favourites to sign Liverpool’s out-of-favour right-back Nathaniel Clyne with the London club seeking a loan deal in January.

The report claims Clyne favours a move back to the capital, while Cardiff City and Leicester City are also keen though Liverpool are said to be uncertain over his first-team chances with the Foxes.

Fulham failed to solve their right-back problem last summer as regular first-teamer Ryan Fredericks left the Cottagers to join rivals West Ham United on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract.

New Fulham manager, Claudio Ranieri, will face his old club Leicester City where he won the Premier League in 2015-16. After winning the Premier League, he was sacked nine months later after poor performances.

However the Italian is now with Fulham who sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, but started his new chapter with a 3-2 win against Southampton, and his next match was against Chelsea which his side lost 2-0.

He is now focusing on the game against Leicester, looking for a desperate win that would push them out of the relegation zone.

As December is a busy month in the footballing world, Fulham will need to start picking up points if they want to remain in the Premier League. A win against Ranieri’s former side will lift the team spirit just before Christmas.

Realistically Fulham should be doing much better if you look at the players they have brought in. The West London club have splashed the cash after being promoted from the Championship, and they bought experienced players such as Andre Schurrle, Aleksandar Mitrović, and Sergio Rico.

These players must start performing at their best if they want to stay in the Premier League, and that could happen with Claudio Ranieri’s appointment.

It doesn’t get easier for Fulham as they face Leicester City who have done well under Claude Puel.

Leicester have done well this season as they sit 9th, but a win against poorly performing Fulham will see them jump to 6th.Fulham’s summer signing, Andre Schurrle, missed the last game against former club Chelsea due to a knock, but should return to the starting eleven. Floyd Ayite will be out due to a groin problem.

Everton have a quick turnaround from the derby loss on Saturday when they host Newcastle United tomorrow at Goodison Park. In many ways, being able to move on from the Liverpool heartbreak so quickly will be a good thing, but there may be some tired legs. How can Marco Silva mitigate that?

Tactics and Formation
The primary factor in Everton’s approach to this match will likely be Silva’s approach to squad rotation with a typically hectic December descending on the club. Newcastle United doesn’t present anything substantially different than Brighton and Hove Albion or Crystal Palace did, so we don’t suspect Silva makes any opponent-specific adjustments.

So, we suspect the major changes will take place in the front four, where form, fatigue and past tactical success and failures could well combine to cause Silva to make a few changes at the top of the formation.

The French left-back will get a break in one or more matches this month, given the hectic nature of the schedule. But, he’s continued to be one of Everton’s best players, so we don’t think we’ll see Leighton Baines just yet.

Save the three matches he missed with a skull fracture, Michael Keane has played every minute of every match in all competitions — that’s 10 straight matches since his return to the lineup on September 23.

Kurt Zouma, meanwhile, has been a hard-luck exclusion since sitting out against his parent club, Chelsea. We think this match will be as good a chance as any to rest Keane and play Zouma, though we certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see the Englishman get his 11th straight start either.

The Colombian was once again very solid this weekend — against a dangerous Liverpool attack no less. He got an injury-forced rest to start the season, so there’s a real chance Silva will use him heavily during the December fixture crunch.

Like Digne, Coleman will rest at least once or twice during the month of December. Also like Digne, he’s clearly better than the next best option on the bench — Jonjoe Kenny — so Silva won’t rotate as heavily at this position as at others.

Speaking of players who don’t rotate out often, we expect Gana to start in this one as well. He started every match until Boxing Day last season, and he’s no less important to Everton now than he was then.

We didn’t really understand Everton’s move for Andre Gomes when it was made on at the transfer deadline. We were very very wrong about him and would like to extend our apologies to the most handsome footballer from Portugal (don’t @ me).

With Gomes in the lineup, Everton drew at Stamford Bridge, went blow-for-blow with Manchester United and Liverpool, and picked up three crucial victories against lower-table opposition. That’s no coincidence.

Everyone’s favorite Icelander will probably need a break at some point during this period as well, so it’s a good thing Everton has…

In seriousness, the most likely outcome is that maybe Dowell gets a match, but Silva instead opts to play two strikers when resting Sigurdsson. Either way, Gylfi is a workhorse and will play in this one.

Marco Silva’s comments about Lookman ahead of this match definitely point to the youngster getting a start against Newcastle. He’s more than earned his chance, and maybe would have gotten a start even earlier had he not picked up a knock on youth international duty.

The Turkish striker has been patient, looked good off the bench, and earned another chance to start after stumbling through some finishing problems in the opening part of the season. We’re pretty much over the Richarlison as striker experiment (at least in most situations), so we’re desperately hoping Tosun can put in a good performance here

Arsenal will make their first visit to Manchester United under Unai Emery on Wednesday, and the Gunners travel in Week 15 with more optimism than they may usually have heading to Old Trafford.

Their last Premier League victory at the ground came in September 2006; Arsenal have since lost there on eight occasions and drawn three times, a record they’ll hope to improve with Emery.

Rare is it over the past decade that an Arsenal team might be considered favorites travelling to Old Trafford, but that appears to be the case this coming week. Perhaps not as the bookmakers are concerned, but with Arsenal fourth in the league—three places and eight points better off than the Red Devils—it’s difficult to ignore the apparent imbalance between the two.

While Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba have struggled for form this campaign, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette—with 16 goals between them—are hoping they can turn Arsenal’s fortunes in Manchester.

Ashley Young and Granit Xhaka will be missing for United and Arsenal, respectively, after they picked up their fifth bookings of the season in their most recent outings. Mourinho’s men battled from two goals down to scrape a 2-2 draw at relegation-zone Southampton, while the Gunners thumped Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in the north London derby.

Arsenal will extend their current unbeaten streak to 20 matches if they avoid defeat on Wednesday, but the real motivation will be that they can move 11 points clear of United with a win.

Emery has never beaten United counterpart Jose Mourinho in five career meetings (four losses, one draw), but the Red Devils look vulnerable after winning just one of their last four.

Old Trafford hasn’t been the comfortable fortress it used to be, with Juventus and Crystal Palace each preventing United from scoring at home in the past six weeks, while Swiss side Young Boys came within minutes of doing the same. That will give Emery hope, considering his side’s leaky defense has been something of a weakness.

The Gunners haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last seven league outings, but they have scored 18 goals (2.57 per game) in that time.

Arsenal make their way to Old Trafford looking the more likely team to score, and Emery can clinch a major moral victory with a first win over Mourinho at a fitting location.

Manchester United will hope to end a run of three Premier League games without a win, but face an uphill challenge against an Arsenal side on a run of 19 matches unbeaten and buoyed by Sunday’s north London derby victory over Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho’s side are facing a crucial moment in their season following their 2-2 draw with Southampton at the weekend, with reports of fall outs between the manager and certain players emerging along with a defensive injury crisis that is seriously impacting their hopes of finishing inside the top four.

Arsenal meanwhile have moved into the top four themselves after the 4-2 win over Spurs, and although they could be without Mesut Ozil due to a back injury, they appear to be in a good patch of form that could see them secure their first league win at Old Trafford in 12 years. Follow the live action below.

It’s been a season in which Manchester United have drabbed without distinction, and Jose Mourinho’s managerial mantra has been a cocktail of melancholy and cynicism. The latest verbal scythe from the Portuguese manager was aimed at Paul Pogba, describing the Frenchman as a “virus” who “kills the mentality of good honest people.”

How strange it will be then when Arsenal arrive at Old Trafford as the side in jovial spirits just months after Arsene Wenger’s polarising Arsenal reign came to an end. Even stranger, Arsenal will enter the game confident of securing all three points at a ground they’ve failed to win a league game at since 2006.

Fresh from a North London derby win and a 12 game unbeaten run in the league, Unai Emery has instilled a robustness in his side which has dragged them back into the top four. Lucas Torreira and Sokratis have strengthened the Gunners’ spine and the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-Alexandre Lacazette tandem has been deadly. They’ve shared the role of focal point to devastating effect with 16 goals between them.

United’s frontman will be looking on in envy; Romelu Lukaku’s goal against Southampton on Saturday was his first since mid-October. Any hopes of making a resurgent push for the top four will surely depend on the Belgian frontman rediscovering his talismanic touch. However, the problems run deeper than attacking exploits for United. Mourinho’s side have conceded 23 goals, just five short of their total for the whole of last season.

Lucas Torreira: He scored his first Arsenal goal against their bitter rivals on Sunday, but it’s been Torreira’s contribution in front of his defence that has proved so crucial for Arsenal. Tenacity off the ball and swift distribution on it, Torreira is what Arsenal have been thirsting for for years.
